Vets ‘n Vettes Event
Honoring Those Who Fought For Our Freedom
November 5 - 7, 2009
The National Corvette Museum will once again welcome and honor the many men and women who gave so much to protect our freedoms with the 2 nd Annual Vets ‘n Vettes event. This memorable event, held the weekend before Veteran’s Day, is three days full of remembrances and fun activities not only at the Museum, but also in Bowling Green and South Central Kentucky.
The event kicks off on Thursday with a scenic drive to Bourbon country for a tour of Maker’s Mark. Those wanting a little more action can hang around the Museum for some Corvette golf cart autocross. Friday offers your choice of excursions to Fort Knox and the Patton Museum or venture through scenic fall foliage to Barren River Lake State Resort Park and enjoy lunch at the lodge. A Poker Run and Digital Scavenger Hunt are also available for those interested in a little friendly competition.
Saturday is the highlight of the festivities as event participants join the Bowling Green Veteran’s Day Parade for a procession through the beautiful, historic downtown district. The parade is followed by an opportunity to spend the afternoon down on the farm at Chaney’s Dairy Barn. Participants will ramble along the country roads of Warren , Logan and Simpson Counties topping off the excursion with some homemade soups, sandwiches and ice cream of course!
The event wouldn’t be complete without guided tours of the Museum – including the newly expanded and enhanced sections, and wraps up with a banquet at the brand new Corvette Museum Conference Center .
Make plans now to celebrate freedom and share stories with military friends, old and new!
